"My Library," an app developed and maintained by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, serves as a secure and user-friendly platform for accessing the Hong Kong Public Libraries' services. This application offers a variety of features for public library members, enabling them to:

• Manage multiple library accounts effectively
• Review transaction history
• Search, reserve, and renew library materials
• Create and manage personalized lists of library materials
• Check addresses and opening hours of public libraries
• Use GPS functionality to locate the nearest libraries
• Receive personalized alerts for notifications such as pick-up notices and due date reminders
• Search for library materials by scanning ISBN barcodes
• Share information about library materials with friends through email, instant messaging tools, and social platforms
• Pay overdue fines and reservation fees via mobile payment services

Personal Information Collection Statement:

1. The personal data collected through the app is exclusively for processing library accounts or responding to inquiries.
2. Required personal data includes your library card number or Hong Kong identity card number and library account password. Storing personal data in the app is optional; if logged in with your Hong Kong identity card number, it will be converted to a library card number.
3. The app collects general statistical data such as device model, system version, and usage records to assist LCSD in compiling statistics and diagnosing system issues, thereby enhancing user experience.
4. Your location data is obtained via GPS to display nearby public libraries and related information; however, this data is not retained within the app.
5. The app includes a direct call feature for branch libraries but does not collect any personal information.
6. The notification service utilizes your device identifier along with alert messages sent to Apple Inc. for delivery to your device.
7. The social media sharing feature does not disclose personal data to external parties; however, LCSD is not responsible for the privacy policies of other social media platforms.
